Louise Cummings is Professor in the Department of English and Communication and Associate Dean in the Graduate School at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She conducts research in pragmatics, clinical linguistics, communication disorders, and public health reasoning. She is the author and editor of over 20 books, including most recently COVID-19 and Speech-Language Pathology (Routledge, 2023) and Language in Dementia (Cambridge University Press, 2020); she is also editor of the book series Routledge Research in Speech-Language Pathology and Cambridge Elements in Health Communication. She is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health & Care Professions Council in the UK.
