Description

This book offers a data-driven analysis of aging, exploring demographic trends and their impact on decision-making in healthcare. It explores the clinical, economic and environmental factors influencing multimorbidity, frailty, and disability to stratify disease progression and prognosis for a more personalized approach to care. The book also examines behavioral and psychological determinants, outlining trajectories for active and healthy aging. It addresses the challenges and opportunities of the Silver Economy, focusing on work, participation, retirement, and welfare strategies that adapt to an aging population. Finally, the book advocates for mainstreaming aging into health policy, proposing innovative institutional mechanisms for more sustainable, future-oriented healthcare
systems.Featuring case studies, practical strategies and insights, and policy frameworks to improve quality of life and demands of tomorrow’s aging population, this book is essential reading for professional and practitioners as well as researchers, scholars, academics and policy makers in healthcare, public policy, and economics.
