Henk Giele studied medicine at the University of Western Australia, completed his Masters in Surgery at the University of Melbourne, then did fellowships in Oxford and Paris before taking up a role as a consultant plastic and hand surgeon in Oxford. He is a full-time clinical plastic reconstructive and hand surgeon with a special interest in microsurgery, peripheral neurosurgery, and orthoplastic reconstruction. He has developed multiple multidisciplinary teams, including the Bone Infection Unit and the peripheral neurosurgical unit. He was also the inaugural Florey clinical lecturer in Medicine at The Queen's College, Oxford. Oliver Cassell has been a consultant in Oxford since 2001. He trained at the University of Sheffield and Bristol, before moving to Australia to train in microsurgery and tissue engineering. He is a specialist in sentinel lymph node biopsy, and is co-founder of the international dermoscopy course for surgeons. With over 20 years of experience in cosmetic surgery, he specialises in breast and abdominal operations. Philippa Drury is a senior plastic surgery registrar in the Health Education Thames Valley Oxford Deanery and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She obtained a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from The University of Sydney in 2004, followed by her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from The Australian National University in 2008. In addition, she has completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy at The University of Melbourne. Philippa moved to the UK in 2013. She has worked in plastic surgery units in both Australia and the UK including Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, before starting her specialist training in Oxford.
