Bandar Alknawy is Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) and President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Saudi Arabia. He was an Executive member of the Saudi Health Service Council (SHSC), the national governing healthcare body, and a member of the Health Sector Transformation Program (HSTP), the highest governmental entities in Saudi Arabia.
He is a strong advocate of patient safety and quality and digital health, has led several high-impact initiatives. Under his supervision, the Health Sciences University and King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre commissioned state-of-the-art facilities and led a system-wide implementation of the BestCare electronic health record system covering the entire MNGHA network.
He was the President of the Riyadh Global Digital Health Summit in 2020, and lead the annual Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit.
He is also author of several books, including Leading Reliable Healthcare (Routledge, 2018), Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Practical Approach (CRC Press, 2009), and Hepatology: A Practical Approach (Elsevier, 2005).
