Azeez Olayiwola Idris obtained his BSc in Industrial Chemistry from the Ekiti State University (Nigeria) and MSc and PhD from the University of Johannesburg (South Africa). He is the recipient of a Doctorate Student Award for his oral presentation at the 2017 South African Chemical Institute. He specializes in the synthesis, characterization, and application of smart nanomaterials for sensors, biosensors, photocatalysis, photoelectrochemical degradation, and water treatment. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, the South African Chemical Institute, and the South African Nanotechnology Initiative.
