Professor Xie is Deputy director of the civil department of Tianjin university and is a registered structural engineer.Receiving a bachelor's degree in engineering from Tianjin university majoring in civil engineering in 1997; graduated from Tianjin university with a master's degree in structural engineering in 2000, In 2005, he graduated from Tianjin university with a doctorate in structural engineering.He was a visiting scholar at the University of Kentucky, USA, May 2005- June 2006.
