Prof. Torab is a professor of Physical Geography at the Faculty of Arts, University of Damanhur (Egypt) and is editor-in-chief of the Egyptian Journal of Environmental Change. He has published in many research areas, with particular emphasis on coastal and desert geomorphology and natural hazards. He has organized various scientific workshops such as Living with Landscapes, in collaboration with the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) and International Association of Geomorphologists
