Professor Niels Volkmann received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Hamburg, Germany, conducting his doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute under the mentorship of Ada Yonath, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Volkmann trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Brandeis University with David DeRosier, a pioneer in three-dimensional image reconstruction techniques.
