Dr. Nima Khakzad is an assistant professor with the School of Occupational and Public Health at Ryerson University. Before joining Ryerson University, he was an assistant professor of safety and security (2015-2019) at the Faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management at Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands.Dr. Khakzad’s research is mainly focused on safety assessment and management of (petro)chemical facilities with regard to domino effects, natural-technological accidents, and terrorist attacks. He is a member of the editorial boards of Safety Science and Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, and also the co-chair of the Technical Committee in Chemical and Process Industry at European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA).
